Impregnated Diamond Core Bit

Impregnated Diamond Core Bit

Model:CORE

Selected configuration:Configuration to be confirmed

Selected reference:Configuration required

Impregnated diamond core bits configured by core system, OD/ID, matrix, crown, gauge and waterways.

Impregnated diamond core bits for mineral exploration and geotechnical coring, selected as a complete core-system configuration rather than by matrix number alone.

  • Diamond-in-matrix crown for annular core cutting
  • Matrix, crown, gauge and waterways selected together
  • Core-system and operating inputs controlled before quotation

Compatibility and Required Interfaces

Core barrel and rod system

Confirmed wireline or conventional core system

Match size, connection, bit OD/ID and barrel standard.

Send OEM/part numbers or a controlled drawing.

Reaming shell and fluid system

Matched gauge and flushing arrangement

Control bit gauge relative to reaming shell and confirm waterway/fluid capacity.

Current wear and core-recovery history should be included.

Configuration and Performance

Matrix-crown-system selection

Diamond size/concentration, matrix wear behavior, crown profile, gauge and waterways are selected with the core system and ground.

Buyer value

Supports a controlled balance of penetration, crown renewal, gauge retention and core recovery.

Selection condition

No single matrix or crown design is universal; the approved configuration governs.

Application Scenarios

  • Mineral exploration coring
  • Geotechnical and geological investigation
  • Wireline and conventional coring systems after interface confirmation

Confirm Before Ordering

Configuration Inputs

  • Exact core barrel, rod and reaming-shell system
  • Bit OD, ID/core diameter, connection and gauge relationship
  • Matrix/crown/waterway reference or current supplier code
  • Lithology, abrasiveness, fractures, depth, RPM/feed and fluid
  • Core-recovery objective, quantity, destination and packing requirements

Operating Limits

  • Core-system size, barrel, rod and reaming shell must be identified together
  • Matrix numbers and colors are supplier-specific and not directly interchangeable
  • No single matrix, crown or waterway suits every formation
  • Final dimensions and construction are controlled by quotation/drawing

Quality and Pre-Shipment Checks

Available Supply Configurations

  • Impregnated Diamond Core Bit in the approved configuration
  • Optional matching components or spare items when listed in the quotation

Export Packing

Corrosion protection, individual/carton packing, wooden case or pallet method and shipping marks are confirmed for the selected configuration and destination.

Warranty and After-Sales

Warranty, claim evidence, replacement review and after-sales scope are stated in the written quotation for the approved configuration.

Safety and Maintenance Notes

Confirm the complete core system, bit and reaming-shell gauges, fluid delivery and operating parameters before use. Follow the rig/core-barrel manuals, site procedures and required PPE.

Order Documentation

Commercial invoice and packing list
Inspection record, material/quality document or certificate when included in the quotation

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an impregnated diamond core bit?
It uses diamond particles distributed through a metal matrix crown and cuts an annulus so a core can be recovered.
Which core-system information is required?
Identify the barrel and rod system, size, connection, bit OD/ID, matched reaming shell and any current supplier code or drawing.
Can matrix numbers be compared directly between suppliers?
No. Matrix numbering and color systems are supplier-specific. Provide the current code as a comparison reference, then use the approved PerfoMax configuration ID.
How are crown and waterways selected?
They are reviewed with the matrix, core-system dimensions, formation, fluid, depth, RPM/feed and required core recovery or sample integrity.
How is this different from a PDC coring bit?
An impregnated bit uses diamond particles within a metal-matrix crown; a PDC coring bit uses discrete PDC cutters. Their cutting structures and selection controls are different.

Required Matching Components

A complete coring system combines the rig, rods, core barrel, impregnated bit, matched reaming shell, core lifter components and adequate fluid delivery.
